YEAR 11 CAMP

Sorry for not posting for a long while. Been busy or maybe PROCRASTINATING. Last week on the 2nd of Nov(Monday) i went on a school camp that lasted for 3 days(2nd - 4th). It's been one hell of a camp. Best camp so far. I wil brief you through what happened in the camp during the 3 days of FUN.

1st Day

I woke at 5.45a.m as the bus will be leaving at 8a.m. I got to arrive at school before 7.30a.m. So after getting dressed and ready, I carried my luggage all the way to school. It was terribly heavy. But I managed nonetheless. When i reached school, few students were there. Maybe around 5. At 7.15a.m, the teachers instructed us to head in the school to be allocated to groups and to be marked in the attendance sheet. At 8a.m, we headed to the front of the school to catch our bus. I sat on the last bus(the only bus with no air-conditioning) . However, the trip there was pretty awesome. I sat with Tung Bui. We arrived at the camp 1 hour and 30 mins later. The place we will be staying is called Stanwell Tops. We were then allocated to our rooms. My room was B7. My roommates are Matthew Hampe, Tung Bui, Jonathan Zhang and last but not least Virat Nehru. It was a bunker bed. I chose the down one. Luckily we got our own bathrooms!! So, after getting organized, we headed to the common room/hall to be brief on what activity we were going to be doing. Each group were assigned to a specific activity. My group were GROUP 4. The members are Warren , Andy, Sach, Jason, Jess, Norel, Lewis, Tung, Andrew Zhang, Steven, Fraser, James, Adam, Angela, Gina, Nicola,Sam Conway, Matthew Westurland, Brendan, Danielle, Xena, Frank Su and of course me. Our first activity was the Giant Swing. You guys get the idea of a giant swing right??!! By the way, it is 15m high. I didn't do it giving the reason " I have medical conditions". =)

After the giant swing, we went for Lunch. Actually we had lunch first before Giant Swing.
After the giant swing, we played Survivor(bunch of puzzles). By the time we finished, it was time for dinner. I like the food there. Very good. like a buffet style. After dinner, we had Trivia Challenge. I was in another group consisting of Tung Bui, Antonia, Jonathan, Sandy, Christina, and Joyce. I thought it was quite fun that night. After the trivia thingy, everyone headed to their cabin. Jonathan and I headed to the girls room to play some card game(Big 2). At certain time, we(Jonathan and I) had to hide in the bathrooms when we thought the teachers were coming to check. We weren't allowed to be in a girl's room. Anyway, later at nigt, Jonathan and I headed back to our room sneakily.

2nd day

We had to have our breakfast at 8a.m. So each of us took turns to use the bathroom. After breakfast(we ate at a dining place each time we have our meals), my group had to do the Mission Impossible(a type of quiz game- running everywhere solving quizzes. It was preety fun and HOT. Tiring of course too. Each of us in my group had a role. I was the medic. My job was to report if anyone was injured. A useless role i guess as no one got injured. My feet were all sore after the activity. We failed to defused the bomb. After that, we had our lunch. After lunch, Group 4,5 and 6 went to the beach as Groups 1,2 and 3 went yesterday. It was pretty awesome but the journey there was gruesome. So much walking. I played with my friends in the beach a game whereby a person stands in the middle of a circle and they hav to snatch or touch the ball to be substitute out of the circle and the person whom they catch the ball from will be in the circle. Confusing right but it was enjoyable. We took the bus back to the facility. Had our dinner then it was DISCO NIGHT. Pretty good.

The teachers dressing up for the disco:

After the disco, we headed back to our rooms. I was caught after that for leaving the room to get some water. The teachers say no one is allowed to leave their room. But i say i want to refill my water. They say i could have used the sink water. I said i don't drink for the sink. Then they say the water i'm getting is from the sink water. I must have look stupid and dumb at that moment but i really didn't know. They thought i was making an excuse. Anyway, at the end I was just punished to do clean up after lunch with a few more who was caught.

3rd Day

Today was the final day. We had or breakfast then we headed to our last activity. My group did the HIGH ROPES. It was pretty scary. You will get the idea in my video below. Just for the records, I did the High Ropes. By the way, it was raining(slightly) at that time. It made the course much more challenging and slippery. After that, we headed back for lunch. Then we packed and headed home. We reached school at 2.50p.m. Jonathan and I walked home with our luggage.

P/S: at free times during the camp, I played some table tennis. I realised that my table tennis skills is rusting because I didn't play for quite some time already.

Here is the video to sum it up. I <3 teh camp!!!!

So, it's D-day for me being sick and got to do my presentation and D-day for Johanna for her first day in her new school.

Songs here and Songs there~~ =]

I like the lyrics of this song. What if we could stay young forever?! We could enjoy like how we are now without thinking of work and mid-life crisis or even death. What if we could just remain like how we are now so we could play hide & seek with our friends and do lots of games together like what ADULTS can't do. For example, when you were like 8 years old, you and your buddies may like to chase each other around school or at the playground. But, don't tell me when you are 18 years old you still do that?! If you do, they people may call you childish or a "crazy" person. Kick that aside, and just enjoy this song.

Next song is for all my relatives that are overseas, friends that had left me (when i was in Malaysia) to go to somewhere else and friends that I did not meet but left to somewhere else. I would like to dedicate this song to them. The list of names that I would like to list out is too long therefore, you guys know that if you fall in any of the category above, then this song is for YOU. Enjoy!!

I also love this song below. Meaningful and beautiful. Learned this song from one of beloved movie: Bridge to Terabithia

And the final video is taken from a friend's of mine blog. She is the one who taught me how to put YOUTUBE videos into my blog. I'm not that "clever" in blogging yet there tolong tunjuk ajar everyone. Anyway, I know she wants to be famous. Therefore, I will publish her name: Johanna. =]

Lazy Lazy Lazy ME!!!! =D

Thank God(which ever God you are praying..=D) for curing my flu. When I was having the flu, thoughts of me getting the H1N1 flu were floating around my head. Thoughts like will I be going to die today? And to make matters worse, I got all the symptoms of a normal flu and H1N1 flu. So it was hard to differentiate between both. I suffered from fever, flu(not much), phlegm(not much), and the worst of all some difficulty in breathing. The difficulty in breathing symptom is not that common for normal flu but it is common for H1N1 confirmed patients. It is also because the H1N1 virus affect the "victim's" respiratory system. So, while i was suffering from these symptoms for like 3 days, i kept thinking before i went to sleep, before I close my eyes and dream of MISS PERFECT(haha), of whether I will make it through the night. Whether I will be waking up tomorrow. So, I was kind of frightened. Terrified I would say. I kept praying to God saying that I have not finish exploring the world yet. I got lots more to offer. And as my previous school in Malaysia motto says," To Touch Hearts and Change Lives", I have not yet touch people's heart(maybe i did...hehe. You tell me!! =D). And i have not yet change people's life(in a good way). So, i prayed and prayed and prayed. And then I thought to myself. Maybe this is a trial or test that God put unto me to test my strength and faith and also to make me realize how important life is. And that I should not waste it doing nonsense but rather to spread love and His message. Therefore, with this mind set, I changed my view of my sickness and I try to look at it in a positively way rather than before when i kept thinking negatively.

As the topic says, I am becoming lazier by the day but not to the point of not doing homework at all. I can't find any motivations for myself. I seem to have the will to study on one day but loses it on the nest day. And then it repeat and repeat over again. I just can't imagine how all the smart kids are able to concentrate and find the will to study and revise everyday. Honestly, I can't do that!! Actually, most of us can't do that...LOL. Therefore, I need advices. haha....xD. Please do give me some!!! That's all. I seem to post a lot about myself these days.....haha. Will change to something else.

Cheers!!! Enjoy Life. Remember that you are not a cat but a human. You only have 1 life. So make the most out of it!!!

Update On Me!!

Hi guys,

It has been a rough week for me. There were good stuffs that happened but overall it's bad. Not feeling quite well recently. Caught a flu. I'm hoping it is not swine flu. Anyway, I just can't get why certain people find it hard to TRUST people. I just don't understand. They always think that the person is not honest. Well, you always got to give the benefit of doubt and trust to anyone.

Trust is not something that is easy for certain people as maybe they were cheated before or their heart has been broken before. However, not everyone is the same. We are all completely different from one another even though we may seem to be alike on the outside.

We got to try to trust other people like how we trust GOD.

Anyway, here are some good movies with a good message in it:

1) Bridge to Terabithia - This movie teaches us about true friendship and that FRIENDS do help and change our lives.

2) Gran Torino - This movies tells us that no matter how strong you are on the outside, you are still a small child in the inside. And that people whom you may not know yet may change your life in one way or another.

3) Meet the Robinsons - This movies tells us to keep moving forward and to learn from our past.

4) Pursuit of Happiness - This movie tells us that hardship and determination will bring you a long way.

Last but not least, enjoy this cool music video from the movie MEET THE ROBINSONS:

The Eucharistic Miracle

Some people doubt that Jesus Christ is in the host(bread) during mass. But this video below prove(in one way) that Jesus Christ is in it. PROVE OF JESUS IN BREAD

Down and Uninspired

These few days during the holiday break, i didn't have the mood to post anything new. I'm just feeling quite down as firstly i'm BORED and LONELY. Maybe i'm feeling HOMESICK, "FRIENDSICK" or maybe just "CHURCHSICK". I really don't know. I'm just hoping i can go through my "down" time. I definitely need God's help. I can't do this alone. Furthermore, i'm also feeling not inspired to post anything new as firstly i'm down and secondly I got nothing to post about. I will definitely be posting something soon, so do check on my blog once a while .

Push all the bad things one side, during the holidays, my friends and I went to watch the most anticipated movie of the year that is Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It's quite dull the movie but it does give you an overall impact of satisfaction after the movie. Well, played some CS(Counter Strike) with my schoolmates. It was awesome!! But after that, i pretty much do nothing during my holidays.

Therefore, i will be starting school soon and i will be hoping to get some good marks in my subjects. Wish me all the best and may God bless you all!! Will be posting soon..............

SHOCK!!

Few days ago, i read a friend of mine blog and was shock to discover what the Muslim people did. It is still lingering in my mind even though many days have passed. What was so shocking was that the Muslim people pretend to be christians and then followed the mass and include themselves in the sacredness rituals. They were spying on the christians!!!! They wanted to see whether the christians were using the word "Allah" which they proclaimed it is their God and no other religion can use the word "Allah". Well, that is not the end of it as one muslim fellow took communion, which is strictly allowed only to christian , and spat it out which was then published in an Islam magazine. This is total disrespect towards another religion. First by spying then secondly, spitting out the most sacred thing in the christian community.

I am hoping people who just read this post may lodge a police report in any nearest police station(that is if you are in Malaysia) or maybe spread the news out. For more details on what happened, please proceed to this website http://www.andrew4jc.blogspot.com

Tell me what will they(Muslim practitioner) do if other religion spy and disrespect their religion??!!!!

I just feel angered and disturbed by what they did. Anyway, holidays has just started for two whole weeks......haha
May God bless us all and may all the wrong doers out there repent.

Life is Tough

Today when i woke up, there were a lot of fog. It was like the clouds had descended. Well, I went to school as usual. Nothing much happened in school. Just "normal" things such as study, play and eat. After school, i walked back with my school mates. It was raining. We hang out in a shopping complex(a small one) for quite sometime before deciding to go back. That's all that happened today. Quite dull and nothing special. That's life right?

Life doesn't always go as what we wish. If it does, i will be hoping that a million dollars of cash would drop down in front of me or maybe I won a competition and i will get a new laptop. However, this is life we are talking about and it is not easy. We have to work hard to get or achieve what we want. And sometimes till a point of frustration. You just feel that life isn't fair to you.

In life, we also will be able to see many friends "come & go". But some do stay with you and they are called "Good Friends". I myself have experienced disappointment because of them. It is either they betrayed your trust or they try to take advantage of you. Well, what could I say?!!

Life is like war. Everyone is like a soldier fighting for themselves to survive in this harsh world. Every men is for himself. However, there are still some good people who does believe in helping one another. They are like soldiers who are fighting for their life but in the same time they help the wounded. Not many, but there are still few.

Life is Tough and you got to admit it. However, I still long and wish that people will change and be more caring and appreciate the people they are meeting, talking or seeing everyday as it may be the last time you meet, talk or see that specific person.

DARING TO BE DIFFERENT

People in the world today tend to forget what is originality is. Everyone is so caught up with the media and fashion sense until they try to become other people. For instance, many people try to be "cool". Many people are familiar with this word. They try to be "hip hop", wear the pants till the kness, or wearing caps sideways or at the back, talking like a "walking radio" with the funny "hip hop" accent, and also the redundant hand movements while they are talking. You parents should know this better than any one in the world. You can see your child gradually change from an adorable, sweet, and unique child to someone else("cool" people). This phenomena can be seen especially in schools. Many kids try to be "cool". Colour their hair, buy funky school bags, wearing sneakers to school, and lots more. Why are they doing this???!!! It is because they are seeing many people doing that and they want to be in the "GANG". In school life, if you are not in the "GANG"(the cool group), then you are classified as a WIERDO, GEEK, NERD and many more which they can think about. However, they are not getting the point. People who are trying to be DIFFERENT are not the wierdos but YOU GUYS are the wierdos. You guys are trying to be someone else which is not yourselves. You guys are trying to COPY other people. That is so fake and lack of originality.

Personally, i try to be different as much as possible in a GOOD way. I'm not asking you guys to be completely DIFFERENT. Well, autism kids are different than us but we should not classify them as wierdos or "disgusting" creatures. They are so like us in every way. Only their brains are not functioning as well as ours. Yes, they are different, but we should never discriminate the CHILDREN of GOD. They are our brothers and sisters. Treat them with respect.

Give them the comfort and sense of belonging that they need as what Christ will do.

Give them a helping hand that they are all waiting for.

Another thing is that racism is still a big issue in this world. This race discriminate the other race. Another race discriminate another race and so on. Why should we discriminate or look down on other people based on their races?! Once again, they are all humans like us. Just that their skin tone is different. Black, brown, yellow, white etc are just colours. They don't mean anything. It is what is inside that person that counts.

Chinese people are great people. Loving, caring and humble.

And Indians are the same too. Loving and caring in the same time.

Caucasians are no worse than that. They are equally good as the chinese and the indians. They are no better and no worse than them. Everyone is the same. Look at their laughters. Why should there be discriminations?!

So therefore, i stress out again that we all should not hide in our safety "box" but to get out of it and be different. Different is unique and special. And being special is a great thing rather than being just like anyone else. DARE TO BE DIFFERENT!!!!!

~~ GOD created us all differently, so why not we try to be different then try to be the same?!~~

Bridge To Terabithia

Few days ago, i watched this fantastic movie called Bridge to Terabithia. Don't get me wrong. I'm not an outdated person. I had watched this movie when it first came out not few days ago. I chose this movie as my related text for my English assignment whereby each of us had to find a related text that has "journey" and relate it back to the novel that we studied "Looking for Alibrandi".

This movie really had touched me in some way. This movie is so meaningful that Katherine Paterson(the author of this movie) should be applauded. However, we should not forget Gabor Csupo'(director) who did a wonderful job directing this movie. Josh Hutcherson and Annasophia Robb the actor and actress for this movie who played Jesse(Jess) Aarons and Leslie Burke respectively were great too. Both of them did a brilliant job well done. I personally like the character Leslie Burke(Annasophia Robb) as she is filled with joy and such charisma. It was sad that she died at the end of the film. I was like," What!!!! She died?!" I have to admit that this movie brought me to tears.

For those who didn't watch this movie, here is a sypnosis:-

"Animation master Gabor Csupo directs his first live-action film in this adaptation of the novel The Bridge to Terabithia, by Katherine Paterson. In the film, Jess (Josh Hutcherson) is misunderstood. Despite Jess' talents as an artist, the school bullies pick on him, his father (Robert Patrick) belittles his dreams, and his four sisters invade his space in the family's cramped house. Jess' bleak world changes when Leslie (Annasophia Robb) moves into the house next door. Bright, creative and outspoken, Leslie also finds herself an outsider in their school. Soon the two are thick as thieves, spending their after school hours exploring the woods beyond their backyards and on the others side of a creek, which Leslie deems the kingdom of Terabithia. Here, they create their own magical world, complete with a Dark Master and his minions, dragonfly soldiers, giant trolls and a treehouse fortress. In Terabithia, the two friends let their imaginations run wild and control their destiny, far away from school bullies and the pressures of adolescence. Hutcherson and Robb are well cast as Jess and Leslie in this coming-of-age tale. Hutcherson handles both the melancholy intensity and unbridled joy of his character beautifully, and Robb's smile and charisma are infectious. Zooey Deschanel also stars as Miss Edmunds, the music teacher who befriends Jess. Parents should read the book or learn more about the story before taking young children to see this film, as the story includes not only some scary creatures, but also the death of a young person. Terabithia and its creatures are created by WETA Digital LTD, the same company that did the effects for the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy and KING KONG."

Well, for me, the sypnosis of a movie is never enough. Those who still didn't watch the movie yet, should get a copy of it right now. This movie is not a children movie but actually for every group age. I could confidently and bravely say that this movie will change your life in some way. This movie will definitely be in my TOP 10 favourite movie in my whole life. WATCH THE MOVIE!!!!!! I wish and hope there is Bridge to Terabithia 2. However i got a strong feeling that it won't have a sequel as firstly, Katherine Paterson did not wrote a sequel and secondly, Leslie is dead. So, what will the sequel be about?! Anyway, my fingers are always crossed. Haha.....GO JOSH AND ANNASOPHIA!!!!!

Here is a video clip of Annasophia Robb's music video:

P/s: By the way, i heard that Annasophia Robb is acting in a film directed by Gabor Csupo'. The movie is not out yet. Maybe in 2010 or 2011.

BEST OF LUCK JOSH AND ANNASOPHIA!!

Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa was born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in Skopje, Macedonia, on August 26, 1910. Her family was of Albanian descent. At the age of twelve, she felt strongly the call of God. She knew she had to be a missionary to spread the love of Christ. At the age of eighteen she left her parental home in Skopje and joined the Sisters of Loreto, an Irish community of nuns with missions in India. After a few months' training in Dublin she was sent to India, where on May 24, 1931, she took her initial vows as a nun. From 1931 to 1948 Mother Teresa taught at St. Mary's High School in Calcutta, but the suffering and poverty she glimpsed outside the convent walls made such a deep impression on her that in 1948 she received permission from her superiors to leave the convent school and devote herself to working among the poorest of the poor in the slums of Calcutta. Although she had no funds, she depended on Divine Providence, and started an open-air school for slum children. Soon she was joined by voluntary helpers, and financial support was also forthcoming. This made it possible for her to extend the scope of her work.

On October 7, 1950, Mother Teresa received permission from the Holy See to start her own order, "The Missionaries of Charity", whose primary task was to love and care for those persons nobody was prepared to look after. In 1965 the Society became an International Religious Family by a decree of Pope Paul VI.

Today the order comprises Active and Contemplative branches of Sisters and Brothers in many countries. In 1963 both the Contemplative branch of the Sisters and the Active branch of the Brothers was founded. In 1979 the Contemplative branch of the Brothers was added, and in 1984 the Priest branch was established.

The Society of Missionaries has spread all over the world, including the former Soviet Union and Eastern European countries. They provide effective help to the poorest of the poor in a number of countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, and they undertake relief work in the wake of natural catastrophes such as floods, epidemics, and famine, and for refugees. The order also has houses in North America, Europe and Australia, where they take care of the shut-ins, alcoholics, homeless, and AIDS sufferers.

The Missionaries of Charity throughout the world are aided and assisted by Co-Workers who became an official International Association on March 29, 1969. By the 1990s there were over one million Co-Workers in more than 40 countries. Along with the Co-Workers, the lay Missionaries of Charity try to follow Mother Teresa's spirit and charism in their families.

Mother Teresa's work has been recognised and acclaimed throughout the world and she has received a number of awards and distinctions, including the Pope John XXIII Peace Prize (1971) and the Nehru Prize for her promotion of international peace and understanding (1972). She also received the Balzan Prize (1979) and the Templeton and Magsaysay awards.

OCTAVE DAY OF EASTER

Today is the Octave of Easter, the day which completes the Easter Octave. In the liturgy the eight days of the Octave are like One Day. Since the Octave begins and ends on the same day of the week(Sunday), it is as though the days in between are subsumed within it and we celebrate one great Sunday as Easter breaks upon us. Each day of the Octave is (liturgical) still Easter Sunday- thus all this last week the Gloria was prayed at every Mass, the Easter Dismissal is given ('Go in the peace of Christ, alleluia, alleluia! Thanks be to God, alleluia, alleluia!)

Today then is still Easter Sunday in our liturgy, a Day too great to be confined to one day. And after today, we continue the Season of Easter: 50 days which do not come to their end until Pentecost as we celebrate the great fruit of Easter- the outpouring of the Spirit of God.

As we took 40 days to prepare for Easter, let's not forget to take even longer- 50 days- to celebrate it.
